After some delay, Samsung has announced the launch of its beta program for One UI 6, its version of Android based on this year's Android 14 release. The main features of this next version are a simplified design and more customization- options.
Samsung's press release says that in the design, "many elements have been changed to create a more modern look. It includes a new default font and new emoji that you can use from the Samsung keyboard. The company has also updated the look of the Quick Panel to make it easier to access frequently used functions. In terms of customization, One UI 6 lets you choose specific lock screens associated with specific modes and routines that sound similar to iPhone lock screens and focus modes.
Unfortunately, the One UI 6 beta is only available for the Galaxy S23 series – if you're looking to get your hands on one of Samsung's latest foldables, you're out of luck right now. But if you have an S23 phone and you're in the US, Germany, or South Korea, you're now invited to join the One UI 6 beta program.
