Tesla owners with an iPhone can now use Siri to trigger Apple Shortcuts automation without having to turn to paid third-party apps like Tessie. The latest update to the Tesla app, version 4.24.0, was released with a release note that said, "Access your vehicle's controls and climate control with Apple Shortcuts.
To use Siri Shortcuts, simply call Apple's digital assistant and say the name of your automation. It's a little more awkward than actual Siri integration, since you have to memorize the names they're given and repeat them verbatim to trigger the keystroke automation, but it's probably best for Tesla owners, at least for now. That said, shortcut support is somewhat understated in the release notes. You can reportedly use keys to control different modes like dog mode or bioweapon defense mode, as well as close all windows, adjust media volume, unlock mode or set a download limit, all with your voice (if you've set up automation in the Shortcuts app).
