The announcement came in a tweet from the CEO late Sunday, where the new logo was seen at Twitter's headquarters - now X - in San Francisco.

In another recent post, Yaccarino shared the logo saying, "X is here! Let's do it." However, the company's owner, Elon Musk, had already released the logo on Saturday, so the official reveal was not that surprising.

According to Musk, he wants people to start calling the X app instead of Twitter. But as popular tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee said in response to the new name, "Old ways die hard."
Earlier on Sunday, Yaccarino tweeted that he and Musk were "excited to work with our team and all of our partners to bring X to the world."
His comments followed several posts by Musk on Saturday evening, who said the platform was in the process of major changes, including a rebranding to ditch Twitter's famous bird in favor of a new X logo. Musk changed the name of the company from Twitter Inc. to X Corp. in March, tweeting Saturday: "Soon we will say goodbye to the Twitter brand and little by little to all the birds."
But while the new X logo has been unveiled, there is definitely more work to be done with the blue bird, as at the time of writing it can still be seen on the mobile app and in the corner of embedded Tweets, as seen above. Yaccarino said on Twitter earlier Sunday: "It's extremely rare - in life and in business - that you get a second chance to make a second big impression. Twitter has had a huge impact and changed the way we communicate. Now X is going further and changing the global town square."
The CEO, hired by Musk in May, continued: "For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, innovate faster and realize our great potential. X does that and more... This change has no limits. X is a platform that can do it all. @elonmusk and I look forward to working with our teams and all partners to bring X to the world.
Musk, who also runs SpaceX and Tesla, wants to turn Twitter into a so-called "super-app" that offers various services under one roof, like China's WeChat. Services may include encryption, messaging, banking, payments, food delivery, ride sharing, shopping, etc.
The plan to ditch Twitter's iconic bird logo and transform the app into something much more than a microblogging platform follows other major changes at the company since Musk bought it for $44 billion in October. One of the first moves of the new owner was to cut staff by more than half before renewing the Blue Check control system, offering it to anyone who pays for Twitter Blue, its advanced level, not just celebrities such as politicians and celebrities. Musk also relaxed the platform's moderation rules, allowing many previously banned accounts to return to the service. The platform is currently trying to fend off competition from Threads, a Twitter-like app that Meta launched earlier this month, which amassed more than 100 million users in its first five days, setting a new growth record.
